Like every woman, each precious stone is unique in the world. Today’s jewelers invite them all in creating monochrome and multicolor jewelry that is more personalized than ever. Our festival sets the tone.
HISTORICAL DIAMOND
Following its partnership with the rough diamond trading company Nemesis International, de Grisogono has gained access to the world’s most fabulous stones. Hence the launch of The Art of de Grisogono and the presentation of the Creation 1 which showcases a totally exceptional 163.41-carat, D color, type II, F-Flawless diamond ! it is magnified by a particularly sophisticated asymmetrical necklace admirably epitomizing the inimitable de Grisogono style. Emeralds – the lucky stones of the brand’s creator – that quiver with every movement ; an iconic chiaroscuro effect to accentuate the contrast between diamonds and emeralds ; diamonds assembled to form a remarkably supple chain ; a pattern of volutes on the back ; thousands of stones ensuring no surface is left untouched : a landmark creation that is to be auctioned by Christie’s.
RUTILATED QUARTZ
The Gallery Collection by Chanel is an ephemeral collection that will be renewed every two years. For its launch, it comes in 12 symbolic jewelry creations freely reinterpreting the chain of the 2.55 bag – launched in February 1955 – and the octagonal shape of the Place Vendôme – like the bottle stopper of the No 5 fragrance and the case of the Première watch. In the My Chain line, the chain forms a necklace, a bracelet, earrings or rings around a central octagonal shaped stone : an emerald-cut rutilated or “Venus hair” quartz. In some models it is paired with a skilfully openworked octagon creating a mirror effect.
MISCHIEVOUS MORGANITE
Joie de vivre is the hallmark of the Peekaboo collection that Bucherer has developed with Yungo Lee, a South Korean-born jewelry designer based in New York. She has broken free of conventions to address modern-day Marie-Antoinettes by setting the stage for softly colored stones such as morganite. Adorning the neck, ears, finger or wrist, the pink stone appears set with three prongs, one of which is larger and shinier than the others, adding a mischievous touch that is the collection signature.
MYSTICAL EMERALD
Part of the Mystical Garden collection by Gübelin, the Ornament of Flowers line welcomes a bloom composed of diamonds and a magnificent Colombian emerald. High-quality colored stones have a consistently singular inner life, a kind of digital fingerprint composed of their inclusions. For emeralds, these are often referred to as a “garden”, and Gübelin loves exploring each of them so as to highlight its identity. The new flower blossoms on a necklace naturally featuring the brand’s dainty signature ruby.
PLAYFUL MARQUETRY
Following on from the line of humoristic “La Boutique” creations which it launched in the 1950s, Van Cleef & Arpels has designed a whole collection of clips named Lucky Animals. A cat, a hummingbird, a rabbit… in all nine lucky-charm animals composing this adorable bestiary. The perfectly executed marquetry crafted from hard stones and sometimes mother-of-pearl is framed by tiny gold beads. The latter light up these creatures that appear to be lifelike thanks to a wealth of subtle details.
SENSUAL MONOCHROME VARIATIONS
Inspired by the fan-shaped mosaics of the Roman Baths of Caracalla and by the peacock theme adorning the Baths of Diocletian, the Diva’s Dream collection from Bulgari is renewed through cut-out designs and an original color palette. The brand brilliantly lives up to its reputation as a master of color. A jewelry set adopts the pink nuances of tourmalines, rubellites and amethysts to accentuate the sensual curves of these jewelry creations designed for today’s bold and uninhibited divas.
