FP Journe safeguards and rewards
Francois-Paul Journe has taken a magnificent initiative in acquiring the entire library of the late historian Jean-Claude Sabrier, thus preventing the potential dispersal of this collection that is unique in the world. These printed manuscripts represent a veritable treasure, written by some of the greatest names in horological history, and are now safely kept in a custom-built set of wooden bookshelves in the exhibition space within the Manufacture located at the heart of Geneva. Also to honor and perpetuate his passion for watchmaking as well as a keen sense of mutual respect, François-Paul Journe is organizing at this year’s Baselworld the second edition of the Young Talent Competition award, in partnership with the AHCI. Moreover, for the third year running, he recently awarded the Prix Solo artgenève-F.P. Journe to the best monographic exhibition presented by the 30 galleries taking part in the artgenève Contemporary Art show. The next date in this patronage calendar is set for the new artmonte-carlo show to be held in the Grimaldi Forum in late April.
Vacheron Constantin through the lens of Steve McCurry
Admired and recognized worldwide for the emotional intensity of his vividly colorful and magically accurate shots, the photographer Steve McCurry has placed his talent and his quest for humanity in the service of Vacheron Constantin. Guided by a sense of wonderment with regard to the planet and the people he meets, his work is punctuated this year by immortalizing the 12 stages of his travels with his Overseas watch. For Vacheron Constantin CEO Juan-Carlos Torres, “The notion of eternity, as much with regard to the presentation of world history as to the expression of time, is the common denominator behind this partnership.”
