Audemars Piguet : Art Basel event in Miami Beach

Audemars Piguet partnered with the prestigious Perrotin Gallery, known all over the world for its incredible contemporary art exhibitions and its avant-garde artists, for the 12th Art Basel event in Miami Beach. The watch brand and gallery owner Emmanuel Perrotin presented “Curiosity” : a breathtaking and innovative work designed and developed by the Kolkoz art duo. The extravagant concept of building a floating chalet on the tropical sea of Florida is highly original and is likely to make waves in the media and at the fairs. A nod to the origins of the Manufacture born in the Vallée de Joux, this representation of winter is located opposite the iconic Marine Stadium in Miami, now abandoned and a place where the city’s artists meet. AP also made its presence felt in the Collectors’ Lounge, exhibiting its most beautiful timepieces as well as certain not-to-be-missed pieces from its 2012 itinerant exhibition, organised for the 40th anniversary of the Royal Oak. To round off this artistic collaboration in style, the Manufacture from Le Brassus displayed famous shots by British photographer, Dan Holdsworth, reputed for the striking naturalness of his works. This combination of humour, innovation and talent rightly reflects the independent spirit of the oldest watch brand still in the hands of the founding family. It is but a step from Le Brassus to Miami for those who wear a Royal Oak.
