Bvlgari : Bvlgari gets connected James Bond style

The Diagono Magnesium was unveiled during Baselworld by Jean-Christophe Babin (CEO Bvlgari), pictured here in the company of actress and fashion model Eva Herzigova along with Guido Terreni (Managing Director Bvlgari Watch)

At Baselworld, Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of the Bvlgari group and Guido Terreni, CEO Bvlgari Watch, presented the Diagono Magnesium “wrist-vault”, accompanied by Carlos Moreira, CEO of Swiss company WISeKey. By lever-aging this new creation, Bvlgari’s aim is to respond to the different questions being raised in the watchmaking world with the appearance of the famous smartwatch. This mechanical self-winding watch is equipped with a cryptographic key, which not only protects personal information, but also enables the use of a vast range of applications designed to facilitate its owner’s life. Thus, with but a simple activation of the Bvlgari Vault application on a smartphone or tablet, the watch can be used to: conduct secure payments, activate a house alarm, unlock doors or start a car – just like 007 ! And of course, this is a bundle of technology created in the purest Swiss watchmaking tradition. The news has found its way around the world, on building façades in Manhattan and on the red carpet at Baselworld.
