The watchmaking company founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1887 continues its substantial involvement in the fascinating world of vintage cars as the official timekeeper of the 25th edition of the Raid Suisse-Paris. Starting in Basel, the two-man teams reached the French capital at the end of a three-day journey. From one château to the next, they followed the historical routes in Burgundy, the Loire Valley and the Île de France, prior to concluding the rally with a gala evening held in the Grande Salle Opéra of the Grand Hôtel de Paris. The winners of the Coupe Eberhard – Stamm/Sieber in a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II (1977) – were presented with two Chrono 4 Wall Clocks. Yet another occasion to recall that automobile and watchmaking tradition are natural partners !
Frédérique Constant on the docks at Lake Tahoe
In tribute to its partnership with the Riva Historical Society, Frédérique Constant annually celebrates the famous Runabouts, veritable icons from the Roaring Twenties. On August 7th and 8th, for the fifth year running, the Manufacture from Plan-les-Ouates was the title sponsor of the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance. The crystal-clear waters of this lake straddling Nevada and California saw a parade of legendary boats such as Rivas, carefully restored with their wooden hulls hand-polished and their chrome sections shining with their former glory. On this occasion, Frédérique Constant presented its new “Runabout Automatic Moonphase” collection issued in two 2,888-piece limited editions and delivered in a special gift box containing a miniature replica of a wooden boat.
