Institutionnel : Dubois-Depraz – Watch Gallery & JMH – Musée Rath

DUBOIS-DEPRAZ : 110 years of subcontracting
Founded by the great-grandfather of the current directors, Marcel Dépraz, the Dubois-Dépraz group no longer has much in common with the workshop above the family bakery in 1901. Today, it employs 270 people on three production sites, and has bought up the profile-turning company, DPRM. Renowned for its chronograph mecanisms with multiple indications with or without perpetual calendar, Dubois-Dépraz also supplies watch brands with movements featuring a whole range of other complications.

MUSEE RATH : 5 centuries of watchmaking treasures
From December 15th 2011 to April 29th 2012, “L’Horlogerie à Genève, Magie des métiers, trésors d’or et d’émail” (Watchmaking in Geneva, the magic of crafts, gold treasures and enamel) at Geneva’s Musée Rath will promote more than 1500 works created since the 16th century : timepieces, tools, jewellery, knickknacks and miniatures, some of them on exhibition for the first time. The organisers hope to “emphasise the link between the works and the crafts. The exhibition shows the workshops as creative places, and demonstrates watchmaking tradition, uninterrupted in Geneva for the past five centuries”.
