Salons : Timecrafters / SIAR

Timecrafters enjoys repeat success

Organised for the second time at the heart of New York, the Timecrafters show drew 25 exhibitors to the Park Avenue Armory from September 13th to 15th. All the major watch groups were represented, as were the most noteworthy independent brands on the fine mechanical watchmaking scene, such as De Bethune and Richard Mille, as well as a wide variety of major players such as Chopard, Frédérique Constant and Oris. Their creations were on show for over 3,000 visitors, most of them keen watch aficionados, along with local retailers and U.S journalists. The majority of the visitors left with a copy of GMT XXL USA, published to coincide with the event. The www.timecrafters.com website is already announcing the next edition, to be held in the fall of 2013.

All eyes on the SIAR

A benchmark event in South America, the fourth edition of the Salon Internacional Alta Relojeria attracted 28 CEOs from around 50 brands to the Four Seasons Hotel in Mexico City from October 2nd to 4th. They unanimously saluted the quality of the organisation and the hospitality. About 3,000 visitors from the entire region took part in a packed programme of exhibitions by the brands and by the FHH, along with practical workshops, debates, and the Watch of the Year awards. Among the honourees was HYT, laureate of the Best Concept Watch prize. Exhibitors who had come with the intention of opening up new markets expressed their satisfaction with this opportunity to establish relations with agents, retailers and representatives of the press invited to this event.
