For it 18th anniversary, the spearhead of the A. Lange & Söhne renewal appears clad in black while revealing the secret of its legendary  big date within a slimmer case comprising only one barrel. The designers, engineers and watchmakers of the Glashütte-based firm can be legitimately proud of the Grande Lange 1, of which the new aesthetic assets accentuate the technical performances of its mechanism. The some 400 parts of Calibre L095 are partly visible through the back of the two versions, but also through the front beneath the semi-transparent dial of the Lumen limited edition. For the very first time, its big date glows in the dark thanks to a dedicated coating and a special mechanism, and its hand circular-grained mainplate may be admired by its owner and those close to him. The redesigned movement is endowed with the same power reserve, displayed at 3 o’clock, even without its second barrel. Elegance backed by talent.
