Chronographe Monopoussoir, Demi-Fuseau Horaire 8 jours, Demi-Fuseau Horaire Demi-Savonnette, Grande Décoration, and pictured above the Quantième Annuel GMT: the Villeret collection presented in Baselworld 2011 alongside other new launches has propelled Blancpain into a whole new dimension. The enterprising and innovative spirit pervading the brand is notably reflected in this latest original combination of an annual calendar with this magazine’s favourite function : GMT. The latter is displayed here by the central hour hand, which is coupled with the date, while the reference time is shown in 24-hour mode on a subdial at 8 o’clock and is as eminently readable as the calendar. The Villeret Quantième Annuel GMT is equipped with self-winding Manufacture Blancpain 6054F, featuring a guilloché-work oscillating weight and visible through the sapphire crystal back of the rose or white gold case. A regular fixture on the podiums of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, brand CEO Marc Hayek appears to have passed on to his teams the virus of excelling in every endeavour.
