When unveiling the fruit of their first joint efforts last year, in the shape of the Ottanta tourbillon, the respective bosses of Bovet and Pininfarina had announced that the creative symbiosis was to continue. This year it is expressed through the Cambiano Chronograph 2011 edition, based on the principle of the Amadeo convertible case that enables the timepiece to be used as a wristwatch, a pocket watch, a table clock, and even as a sports timer in this version (with the 12 o’clock section of the strap removed and only the case and 6 o’clock strap section remaining in the palm of the hand). Its use is facilitated by the magnificent chronograph pushers resembling an accelerator and which are ergonomically shaped and symmetrically placed on either side of the famous bow. This concern with functionality is optimised by the distinctive read-off of the chronograph indications (along the horizontal dial axis) and those of the time (vertically), all displayed on an aesthetically and technically pleasing dial comprising 35 parts spread over five levels.
