As the new epitome of contemporary masculine design, the Octo has been interpreted for the past six years in different versions, and notably within its Finissimo range as the world’s thinnest tourbillon and then the world’s slimmest minute repeater – all crafted from titanium. This dual mastery of ‘shape’ movements and of titanium, a metal that makes the case both sturdier and lighter, has been applied this year to the fundamentals of the Octo collection : the self-winding and chronograph models. A welcome means of making titanium available to a broader public, especially since this material often used in aerospace and medicine is particularly biocompatible. Few watch brands offer such a broad choice of titanium watches across so many different segments. At Baselworld 2018, Bulgari is reaffirming its authority in the field of masculine design with a powerful identity, while simultaneously focusing on horological content. So definitely an Octo, what else ? With or without a chronograph.
