A brief historical reminder. After the first tourbillon fitted in a J12 model in 2005, Chanel presented a flying tourbillon in 2012. It is upping the ante this year with a spectacular new watch. Draped in a sparkling garment of baguette- and brilliant-cut diamonds, the J12 Flying Tourbillon stems from close cooperation between Chanel and the developers, engineers and Swiss master-watchmakers at Renaud et Papi – Audemars Piguet’s advanced R&D division. This is a watch, a piece of jewelry and a creation that has no other aim than the pursuit of excellence. That of a brand that has succeeded in reaching the heights of horological complications and Haute Joaillerie. This is all about mechanics, elegance and the virtual canonization of a model that has become a reference since its launch in 2000 : the J12. This icon has a bright future ahead of it, since it is appearing on an ever increasing number of chic wrists. When will it be seen on yours ?
