While Chanel women have their little black dress, the signature color of the Parisian Maison is also worn on men’s wrists this year, with this new version of the Monsieur de Chanel watch. On either side of this model, the black shade gracing the Grand Feu enamel dial and the equally black hue of Caliber 1 highlight the understated mechanical beauty of this 100-piece platinum limited edition. The timepiece features a wealth of Chanel emblems, starting with the octagonal instant hour jump aperture at 6 o’clock, whose shape is a nod to the Place Vendôme ; along with the lion’s head depicted on the strap buckle and crown, as well as on the Manufacture movement that it now symbolizes. The double C for Chanel is formed by the overlapping retrograde minutes and small seconds counters. Framed by a supremely slim and light round case, the square graphic design of the minutes numerals and the digital hours display, secured by two large screws, infuse the watch with an undeniably masculine aura.
