At the helm of Corum since 2007, Antoine Calce is undertaking serious groundwork in order to strengthen the brand and enrich its star lines. Two particular examples take on the instantly recognisable forms of the Admiral’s Cup – in a Legend 38 mm version – and the Golden Bridge, equipped in this case with a baguette movement featuring a tourbillon with sapphire bridge. One of the main complexities involved in this exceptional combination consists of assembling the gold part of the bridge with the 0.6 mm thick sapphire bridge plate – two materials with completely different degrees of rigidity and dilatation coefficients. To ensure a perfect view from all angles, the hand-guilloché solid gold dial of the Golden Bridge Tourbillon is also visible through the two sapphire crystals set into the sides of the case. Also in rose gold, but set with 72 full-cut diamonds framing a black mother-of-pearl dial from the Pictada Maxima oyster, the Admiral’s Cup Legend 38 automatic model gives ladies a chance to wear the famous twelve-sided watch in a size more suited to their wrists.
