It bears its 43 years with grace and style, while its decision to take up sport this year is a sure sign of the great shape it is in ! The Laureato collection – born in 1975 and back in the limelight since the Girard-Perregaux 225th anniversary celebrations two years ago – now appears in a chronograph version while losing nothing of its legendary chic aura. In addition to the two chronograph counters and small seconds on the dial bearing a typical Clous de Paris hobnail motif, the sporty and robust nature of the watch is reinforced by the guard (shoulder) protecting the crown (the latter being octagonal-shaped like the bezel) and necessitated by the pushers. But the pink gold of the case, combined with the uniform surface of the deep blue dial gently graced with counters in the same shade but featuring a snailed finish, place this Laureato Chronograph firmly in the vanguard of masculine elegance. The slender GP logo at 12 o’clock and the leather strap add a particularly noble and distinguished touch to the watch. Keen sports enthusiasts will opt for the steel model water-resistant to 100m (compared with 50m for the pink gold version) and available with the famous bracelet composed of H-shaped links. And for slimmer wrists, the Laureato Chronograph also comes in a 38mm variation.
