Hermès : Playing hide and seek

Hermès once again has fun with time displays and offers an almost permanent “great escape” with the Dressage L’heure masquée model – a watch which, when left to run on its own, shows just one hand, displaying the progress of the minutes. To check local time, the user needs to press the crown-integrated push-button. This brings the hours hand out of its hiding place beneath the minutes hand, and leads it to take up its normal position. The fleeting nature of this game means that it stays there for just a moment, returning whence it came as soon as the pressure is released. This smooth move is accompanied by the second time-zone display which is revealed for the exact same length of time through a GMT window opening at 6 o’clock. The latter function is adjustable via a push-button at 9 o’clock. The entire playful scene is orchestrated by a Manufacture-made movement equipped with an exclusive patented system. This Hermès creation is issued in two limited series: 1,000 for the steel version and 500 for the pink gold interpretation.
