The Twin Turbo Furious equips its movement with a sequential triple-axis double tourbillon and maintains the decimal minute repeater of the 2017 version with its shaped gong-ring coiled the case, while enriching its dashboard with a 6 o’clock power-reserve display and a single-pusher chronograph providing a direct reading of the delta (split-lap time) compared with the reference time. The latter is adjusted via the winding crank on the side of the case, such as after having timed the first lap of the owner’s favorite car. For the second lap, the performance appears on the external white chronograph minute track, while the difference from reference time (delta) is read off on the lower pitboard disk. The sapphire reference time minutes wheel at 6 o’clock marks off the numerals from 1 to 5, appearing on this multi-level dial just above the openworked seconds wheel at 5 o’clock. The maximum reference time is five minutes and 59 seconds, and performance to within plus or minus 20 seconds is displayed in red if the new time is lagging behind the previous performance, or in green/ yellow if it is improving on it. This direct reading of the delta is a world first. The new double tourbillon construction, referred to as sequential due to its fast-paced staccato rotation, is inspired by turbines. The rotations that are much faster than in 2017 (respectively 40 seconds, 3 minutes and 8 minutes) are designed to enhance precision. Thanks to the extension of the sapphire crystal that has been optimally integrated into the overall case design, Jacob & Co ensures an optimal view of the movement in action as well as the multiple dial levels (including a monobloc sapphire crystal section).
