Jaquet Droz : Double metamorphosis

While undoubtedly subtle, the evolution of the stellar model launched in 2011 involves both the heart and the surface of its pink or white gold case available in two sizes. As its name suggests, the dial of the Grande Seconde Quantième Ivory Enamel is still graced with the historical technique of Grand Feu enameling as perpetuated by Jaquet Droz, now also enriched by a double enameling intensifying the depth of the readings and the balance between the brand’s two iconic subdials forming a figure eight. The aesthetic transformation continues on the back of this 2014 new model and signals a marked change in the movement itself, since the sapphire pane reveals the range of grey and black finishes as well as the enlarged bridges and a fan-shaped Côtes de Genève décor – along with the chamfered and softened steel parts with hand-polished angles, the plates circular grained above and below, and the chamfered, countersunk and circular satin-brushed wheels all traditionally associated with the Jacquet Droz ornamental tradition. This contemporary decorative added value hails the arrival of the first major change in the model’s self-winding caliber, which now houses a silicon balance spring and a lever with inverted horns on the pallet-fork. For all those whose demanding values respect the time of quality and the quality of time.
