Richard Mille starts off the year 2015 by addressing women, notably through a tourbillon watch enhanced with a delicate diamond-set spiral motif. It may be seen as representing the countless galaxies of the Milky Way, a marine whirlpool, or the shape of certain marine fauna and flora, but above all as an evocation of the rotating movement of the tourbillon carriage highlighted at 6 o’clock. The spiral pattern provides glimpses of a movement that is highly technical, as always at Richard Mille, and naturally equipped with a dynamometric crown, a safety device serving to avoid excessive winding. The caliber is beautifully enhanced by a baseplate in black onyx, a variety of chalcedony symbolizing balance and inspiration. Along the middle of the three-part tonneau-shaped case that is particularly difficult to produce, black sapphires alternate with diamonds to underscore the characteristic curves that are the signature of all the brand’s watches.
