While Vacheron Constantin is certainly not known for the ostentatious appearance of its watches, the new Patrimony Contemporaine Self-Winding enables the Geneva-based Manufacture to reassert its immoderate taste for elegance and purity. Belonging to the prestigious Collection Excellence Platine launched in 2006, this gem of discretion was previously released only in a 40 mm platinum case. It is now being issued in a 150-piece limited edition featuring a more generous 42 mm diameter. The understated beauty of this exclusive model, crafted in the precious metal that is a favourite with connoisseurs, is echoed in the mechanical excellence housed within. To power this timeless watch, Vacheron Constantin has chosen an equally superb mechanical ultra-thin self-winding movement, Calibre 1120, entirely developed and crafted in-house, and bearing the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva.
