VAN CLEEF & ARPELS – Heavenly love through all four seasons

A rhapsodist of poetic complications and an expert in starry skies unfurling across precious dials, Van Cleef & Arpels gives passionate new impetus to its Extraordinary Dials collection by offering it an ode to love. The most famous couple in the watchmaking industry, depicted on the Pont des Amoureux bridge gracing the Lady Arpels watch created in 2010, sees its love continue throughout the seasons. Four limited editions interpret their lovers’ tryst in a magical setting mingling fine craftsmanship and high jewelry. On the Autumn model in gemset yellow gold, fluttering leaves dance around the sweethearts and the decor extends elegantly onto the full-set bracelet. On the watches embodying each season, the retrograde self-winding movement designed specifically for the Maison allows the young woman to move one step forward every hour, as her darling joins her in the middle of the bridge at noon and midnight, while indicating the minutes. Incurable romantics with an impatient nature can admire the kissing scene on demand by pressing the 8 o’clock pusher. Vivaldi would probably have loved it.
