The Freak universe is growing and becoming increasingly crazy. Ulysse Nardin is propelling its non-conformist watch into a whole new galaxy. The Freak Out Full Black is the collection’s sportiest model. Entirely clothed in black PVD with its silver-toned going train bridge, it radiates ultra-masculinity. Like all Freak Out models, is equipped with in-house manual-winding Caliber UN-205. All the distinctive aesthetic features for which the Freak is famous are there : no crown, no dial, no hands, but instead a flying karussel and ultra-light silicon components. This new collection is made of titanium, thus making it more affordable. It also comes with a revisited case and bezel, as well as a sail canvas strap enhanced with topstitching that matches the movement.

THE INCREDIBLE

Alongside these evolved interpretations of the initial Freak concept, Ulysse Nardin has modified the technology aboard this experimental vessel. The Freak Vision highlights the innovations of the “InnoVision 2” prototype watch. The time indication in the inimitable “freak” style is the standout feature of the collection, involving a baguette-type movement spinning on its axis, making it a karussel with effects similar to those of a tourbillon. The design elements have been clearly modified. The new openworked raised upper bridge is inspired by the hull of a boat. Moreover, the entire case has been reinvented (lugs, bezels, rubber on the sides, box-type crystal) so as to create a more open look. The UN-250 movement makes intensive use of silicon, a technical specialty in which Ulysse Nardin has played a pioneering role. The “Grinder” self-winding system is twice as efficient as existing systems, leveraging even the slightest wrist movements. The Ulysse Anchor is based on the principle of flexible mechanisms, resulting in constant force produced inside the escapement. All of which represent revolutions extending the initial one represented by the Freak itself.
